Do you have a pic of the place mats? If they have a continuous flat surface...you could sand them down & paint pictures on them to hang on the wall. You could tier stack 3 or 4 high using dowels as supports as a counter top organizer for spices, magazine rack, dry food products in the cupboards, a towel stacker for the bath room or for shampoo, bar soaps etc.

If they are flat wood, they make great "hardwood" floors for dollhouses, or pathways in fairy gardens.

Dismantle them and use the parts to make jewelry. String them together for a garland .

Paint them, seal them, then use them as trivets for your hot dishes.

You can paint one as an American flag and hang it on your front door, also you could paint your house number on one, attach flowers and your intial. I think a door wreath is in order.

  • I use them as wooden signs. Just paint then stencil or add transfers or decoupage.
