I'm painting my furniture using latex paint, water, and Textile Medium. I need a lot of Textile Medium and need to make it myself. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Regina

I'm not sure what textile medium is, but I made my own "chalk paint" with Plaster paris, to paint furniture. Just google Homemade chalk paint and I got all kinds of recipe options. Good luck! And have fun!

I'm using latex paint, semi-gloss, Valspar... in order to keep the paint "soft", you use a textile medium.... it's interesting that you use plaster of paris and paint and not textile medium..... how does the furniture feel? stiff or soft? I'm supposed to sandpaper the entire piece before the next application, but I didnt do that either. I am painting a Victoria 3 piece living room set, and the upholestry is tapestry like

I finished the furniture with polyurethane, so it gae the wood a ery sooth finish. The chalk paint eliminates the need to strip or sand off the existing finish.
