In the past we mixed a solution of detergent and vinegar and spayed it on the growth between flagstone pieces on a small area next to our deck. That works! Another idea is to sprinkle sale carefully. It kills anything so be careful about using either of these ideas.

Try vinegar. Where I live the city actually has a truck with a huge tank of vinegar on the back and it is used to spray on the sidewalks to eliminate weeds. Seems to work a treat!
