You don't say what they look like, etc.

I know definitely roach like. I will try to get a picture next time I see them.

In the mean time I would not wait. If you google bugs and click on images you will find lots and you can then pick out the ones you have. I can tell you the roaches are mostly around food. Stink bugs like dark places and are pests but don't really hurt much. I hope this helps.

Here is a place to start.

WARNING: If you are bug squeamish don't open this link. Do as you planned and take a photo and send it to your local exterminator. They will tell you what it is and try and sell you a "visit". If you are frugal like most of us, then you simply google "home remedies for killing ______" fill in the blanks.

  • If it were me, I would call someone out asap. If in fact they are roaches. Otherwise try and deal with yourself. I would get a dollar store roach motel and put it where you saw them, then you have specimens to identify and work with and know what the next step may be.

Thanks for your help guys. I will try to get a better look at the little buggers next time. I have only seen them a couple of times. I just don't like bugs around.

For most part roaches are either large brown/American, can breed with out a mate. Small black are mostly German and not as hard to get rid of.

If they are kind of real large, black, kind of over-all roundish they may be water bugs. Seem to be attracted to dog food. Black and over-all longer look probably crickets. When we had them the cat met me every afternoon by shed waiting for me to open door so he could grab a snack.

There is also an ugly brown cricket that likes to live under houses in crawl space. Most call them camel crickets and they jump around a lot.

If they are roaches sprinkle boric acid behind stuff where pets and kids can't get to it. That's a poison that they can't build an immunity to and they don't even realize it's poison.
