I'm just wondering...are these "lemon cucumbers" (I think that's the name)....if they are, then they do grow round-ish.

I think they also called salt and paper, this their shape and they are very tasty. I had one plant last year. But these one looks like soil needs some nutrition.

Did you have any type of squash planted by? Keep them on opposite side of the garden. They will mix and that's what the pictures look like to me. I made that mistake once and they looked like yours. Hope this helps. Keep us informed.

The size and shape of the cucumbers are due to lack of pollinators. I have the same problem...no bees!!

Do you know what variety you planted? It is possible there was a mistake when the seeds were packaged. They look like Crystal lemon also known as Crystal apple depending on where you live in the world.

I thought it looked like our tomatoes tried to mix with them. They were close to our tomatoes. I looked it up and saw maybe pollination or too much or too little water ? Some turn out perfect but most are these balls.

If it is the green colored cucumbers make sure you pick them before the start turning yellow. You may need to give them some veggie fertilizer and amend the soil around the to have the cucumber get more nourishment. I have missed picking some before and they got huge and yellow. The had more developed seeds in them, but still tasted good and made great bread and butter pickles.

If your cucs are close to other vine crops (like cantaloupes, pumpkin,squash,gourds..etc)..they will cross pollinate....also small pickling cucumbers will go round if let to long....they are meant to be picked very small. But I really think they are cross pollinating.

also if you didn't have enough bees to pollinate the flowers you would have absolutely no fruit....you can pollinate with a small paint brush if you know how.

All the fruit plants needs a lot of water to develop. Even those in round shape. So do not hesitate to guive them water as often as you can. And it "must" be planted in plain ground, not in pots...
