What can I do to rid my home of ants?

I have tried eveything anyone has suggested but they are still here. I think I am sitting on the largest ant hill in the state HELP !!

    if you can find the hill...pour oil....like 2 cycle..or car oil..on the hill .....as far as indoors....some of the old times ways were....bay leaves.....put a chalk line where they are coming in at....boric acid ....for them to eat....

    I wash my metal plates below the door frame, with amonia, and vinegar, and I have no problems. Also, be sure to wash the whole frame, inside and out, in case there are other ants outside. Then, I sprinkle salt, on the moise plate, and have no problems. Best wishes, J.

    This isn't a DIY remedy but I get a bimonthly spray from a professional company. Which covers ants, spiders, fleas, even nice snakes and termites. It is a great investment.

    Amdro, look for it at home stores. Specifically for ants.

    Grind coarsely some rice and put it in front of the mound's holes. The ant take the bits eagerly home and as mould grows on the rice they die. Don't try this if the ant's nest is IN your walls or ceiling, because it could cause nasty humidity problems.
