Sweet potatoes mature in 90 to 170 days and are extremely frost sensitive- have fun!!

is it a decorative( colored leaves) sweet potato growing in a pot? if so they really are not grown for their tubers. if it's an edible potato it will require a very large pot( like a half barrel container) to produce tubers planted in may you should have a good crop by September.

If it's not a big pot, you may want to transplant into the ground- the more room, the more sweet potatoes! I had one I started just in water until it got too big for the kitchen counter. Stuck it outside where my lettuce was winding down. Didn't think anymore about it. early next spring, went to turn under everything for the next year's garden and uncovered a bushel of cute little sweet potatoes!
