How do I change the formica countertop in a bathroom?

The ugly Formica is fitted under the edge of a tile back splash and I really don't want to rip all the tile out.

They make this countertop resurfacing kit that comes in many colors which resurfaces the countertop and saves a lot of repair work from ripping out old countertops. I have seen the Rustoleum brand finished product and it looks great.
