Upcycled Desk

3 Materials
It was part of a children's bunk bed set and I made it into a new, beautiful desk.
This was the bottom half of a children's bunk bed that I bought at Habitat Restore. It was originally priced for $8, but they were having a desk sale so I got it for $4!
I removed the bunk bed ladder and cut off part of the top. I liked the idea of having a hutch-type desk, but it felt too enclosed with the top being fully covered. I like the top shelf with a little openness.
I painted the desk and used a gray and white patterned contact paper for the drawer fronts.
The drawer handles got a charcoal paint job.

A really nice makeover. I like the desk better cut on the angle, it reminds one of the old roll-top desks that used to be very popular.
