Have you tried growing some in a pot or container? Sage does pretty good in a pot. I'm down here in the lovely state of Georgia. If you ever get down this way, we make some mighty good sweet tea. Cornbread and turnip greens and you can come to dinner. Lol. TeresaC
I would help you but distance is a big problem. My hubby is not able to up the terraces to our veggie garden. This year I planted Tomatoes, lettuce and peppers in huge pots that I put on wheels. I also planted lettuce seeds in smaller puts and put them on plant stands that have three levels that I'm Alde's. I used the same stand to put my herbs on last year so I would have them by the kitchen door instead of having to go up to the garden when I wanted to use them. Now he can sit on a chair and tend to them. Another idea is one that I frequently use with my daughter and her friends. It's amazing what you can get done if the offer of a good home cooked meal is in the offering. I going to be 63 this year and hubby 72, so a lot of the heavy lifting and chores are left to me with his limited mobility. I am very lucky to have no health problems and haven't even had a cold in about 25 years. When I get dressed up I can still wear spikes and even run in them. I hope I can be like my mother who will be 97 next month and still walks a mile a day. I dearly wish I could help you. Try to get some help from the younger set to help with your garden or move it closer to the house so that you can again enjoy your garden.
You can buy a small sage plant and keep it in your kitchen window. Or maybe mention to a family member how you'd love to visit a public garden (and hope they'll volunteer to take you) and that way you can enjoy the essence of gardening without the physical work. I am not physically able to garden much anymore but I love weekly visits to a beautiful public garden!!!!
Have you thought about a hanging garden
or a table top garden?
There are many options so you can keep gardening.
I am 76 and have over the last year needed to transfer my garden to a higher level using old screen doors , besser blocks and pieces of any timber I can grab in my small town at garage sales . I also use unwanted plastic crates and baskets . Styro boxes are good too
