How to keep a container garden moist when it's super hot outside?

    you could always add a self watering bottle using a two liter bottle. Just dig a small hole beside the plant, not too deep but deep enough to support the bottle. Fill with water and turn upside down in the dirt. The dirt will hold the water in the bottle but let enough out to maintain moisture.


    Also you could add an opened diaper to the bottom of your planters before you plant anything I them. Put the dirt on top of the diaper and plant the plant like usual. The diaper will hold the moisture there for the plant.

    ditch the plastic diaper and get soil moist crystals. or irrigate by a wicking system- pot o water under planted pot with strip of cotton fabric in to bottom of planted pot, water bottle with neck stuck into soil. soaker hose. drip irrigation- small systems can be purchased as a kit.
