First make sure to scrape away all the damaged area and then you can reset new concrete in it's place, don't worry it's fixable!

There are several brands who make products that will resurface concrete. Results will vary Depending on how rough the damage is.I had a very uneven poured concrete patio. I purchased a concrete etching product to clean and prep the concrete. Then used the manufacturer's complementary stain and sealers.

If you're going to resurface old concrete with new, you need to wet the old to keep the old from pulling the moisture from the new and making the new brittle. You will also need some kind of adhesive or stakes/rods drilled into the old. New doesn't just stick to old. I added masonry cement to mine also because it made it smoother and finished much much better. It's been two years and it's still holding up from "teenager feet traffic".

There's a lot of info on the internet. I learned from watching my grandfather and uncle growing up. But YouTube is honestly great for learning just about anything or refreshing your memory. Good luck to you.
