If you dig up the bulbs when the plants are in leaf, they’re easier to find. Dig the soil around the plants, then feel in the soil until you find all the bulbs. Remove the runners you find below ground as well. With a plant this invasive, it’s important to dig out every bit to prevent it from spreading again next year. Bluebell weed control isn’t a casual enterprise; it has to be dealt with completely or they’ll come back to mock you and your efforts.
Hi, I would like the opposite. Where can I get Spanish Bluebells? My yard is horrible end it would look great with them, plus they kind'a take over with little maintenance. Thanks!
Lots of garden catalogs, and most are online now, too, feature Spanish bluebells. They come in blue, and also pink and white. Just do a search, you'll find sellers. I have them planted on a woodsy slope, and they look great. They fade as the hosta fill out.
