Question about using a Graduation canopy in our lawn

by John Biermacher
My grandson is graduating high school and the rented canopy will covers both a grassy area and a bare area in their lawn. Thinking of mulching the bare area, then raking it out and planting grass after the party. BUT I thought I would check Hometalkers for other ideas.

How about a inexpensive outdoor carpet that can be re-used somewhere else.

  • How about a bale or two of hay? And maybe more for extra seating? Just throw old quilts or colorful beach towels on top. When party is over, sweep up and use as mulch in a flower bed.

How about just having the food tables and drink stations cover this area so it's basically unnoticeable? You can also create a pretty gift table as well. Also scatter some pretty flower planters in the space.

Why not buy or rent some white benches and make a circle of benches around the area. You could put a table with some plants in the middle. That way the bare area would be covered and you would have plenty of seating.

Some rental agencies will provide flooring, for a fee.
