Is Creeping Charlie in your lawn a good thing or a bad thing?
Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Sorry to say but everything I read and researched makes this plant almost impossible to kill. You have to dig out every last piece and it seems that even that is not a sure bet. Weed killers are not always enough and then that will kill stuff you might want to keep.
One word: vinegar and lots of it. How close are the plants you want to keep? Can you post a photo? I would also call your local senior center, they should be able to get you help too.
If you have grandchildren in the area or kids in the neighborhood, see if they could help you, especially if meals, snacks and tips are involved. All I do is tell my daughter what I need help with and she rounds up all her friends that are in the know about what needs to be done and they are on the doorstep asap. They usually turn down money, but will take a home cooked meal any time. All my kids friends call me Mom because I have known them so long, most of them for nearly 20 years.
Thanks, Nancy...but unfortunately my crew are all in Ar and I'm here in S. Ca. Some on Pinterest recommended cutting down to the ground, covering in vinegar, borax, or other ingredients. Guess I'll keep thinking.
Check with your neighbors and see if they have or know of any kids that could help you. You never know, your neighbors may even offer their help, there are still a lot of people in this world who like to help our elderly generation when they are not able to do a chore. See if there is an elder network in your area, they frequently have volunteers that help seniors with things they have trouble doing around the house and yard.
