Make Tick Tubes!

1 Material
Ticks are horrible and I hate them! Our County had more Lyme disease cases than any other county in the US from 2000-2015!

Since we are surrounded by woods I wanted to help keep them at bay, so after doing some research I created tick tubes!
Basically tick tubes are empty toilet paper rolls stuffed with dryer lint that was sprayed with Permethrin. A substance that will kill ticks but is safe for the critters that will take the lint to create their nests.

Did you know mice can carry over 100 ticks at one time?!
So start saving your empty toilet paper rolls and dryer lint!
Spray it with Permethrin, use gloves, let dry then spray the other side let dry and stuff it in the rolls.
Then place the rolls around the perimeter of your yard! Really simple! There is also a video on my blog showing how to make them as well.

Don't you just hate ticks?

Because you put these outside, when it rains the t-paper holders will get wet, could you use pvc pipe because they will last forever?
