The only way to get rid of Creeping Charlie is to use a herbicide called "dicamba," which should be applied after mowing and left in place for three days before mowing again. Moisten the affected area to make it easier to pull the plant out by the roots. Once you've removed all the plants, continue to inspect closely for signs of any new growth, and remove it immediately. Oh Charlie, how I despise thee, after you mow, use a Lawn Weed killer that attaches to your hose. OR what worked best for me was hiring a professional lawn service. (like True Green)

Use a weed killer that specifies it will kill creeping charlie, like the Ortho oxalis and chickweed killer. You need to be persistent, and spray every ten days or so to finally get rid of it. It is called ground ivy.

My best success with a yard FULL of Creeping Charlie is to pull it up by hand. Luckily, the roots are very shallow and it IS easy to pull up. But I also had Weed Man come out and hit it a couple of times over 2 years - they do great work and it's worth the price NOT to have to buy the chemicals, mix it, and worry about putting it out correctly.
