How can I fix damage to my dresser top?

my dresser and night table have a hard shiny finish that was damaged by my perfume bottle which ate through the finish. I've tried using paste wax but the ring is still there hoping to avoid stripping the entire top is there any way to just fix the ring left behind?

To remove white rings left by wet glasses on woodfurniture, mix equal parts vinegar and olive oil and apply it with a soft cloth while moving with the wood grain. Use another clean, soft cloth to shine it up

Thanks this is more like it's eaten through the glossy top coat from oil based ring left by a bottle not a white water ring

Homer Formby finish restorer will help liquefy the finish, allowing you to smooth over the bad spot without stripping.

I once left some clorox clean-up towels on a wooden table top with something on top of it. It was a horrible accident. I not only had a white ring on the table top, but I had a white, big patch on the table top. Someone told me to use some regular toothpaste, not gel, and gently rub it into the spot. It acted like a mild abrasive and eventually, after many tries, rubbed out the white spot. The finish on the table was still beautiful and I saved the table. You can use your fingers, a soft cloth, anything that is gentle to massage the toothpaste into it. Then rub it off with a wet towel. Let it dry and see how much progress has been made. Chances are you will have to do it several times, but it is worth it!
