I have voles that are digging up my lawn, how do I get rid of them?

Do you know for sure they are gnats?Do you have mulch as they could be coming from that.
Gnats are drawn to overly moist soil to lay their eggs. Outside you can place one or two mothballs in a flower pot and it should keep them away. Outside & Inside you can put horticultural sand on top of soil in your potted plants to stop gnats from laying eggs and larvae forming. The larvae cannot hatch out of the sand so it stops the cycle.
