hi. I have a deck in kinda rough shape. I have looked into some of the deckover type products but they are so expensive and have mixed reviews. I thought about floor/porch paint but adding flood additive to help with adhesion in the long run. has anyone tried this? Thanks in advance.

It will not be to your satisfaction as it will peel. You might want to try translucent stain. The opaque paint for outside will peel off a rough deck.

I painted a front porch which was salt treated wood and it was a huge mistake.

Have you tried the recycled rubber decking tiles. They have them at Home Depot and also carry them on line. Just "google" rubber deck tiles. Might be a little pricey, but they really look great.
