I intend to put colored glass into a window that has loose joints. Will the calking and the glass plus points stiffen the window sufficiently for hanging on the porch?

Yes, it should! But how loose are the joints? Just mildly loose?

It will depend on what joints are loose. If the loose joints are in the wood itself, that should be reglued before you add glass to it. it is not the glass that holds the frame together it is the frame that holds the glass in place. So it is important to strengthen the frame first.

Hi Carleen, I agree with Carey. the joints should be fixed regardless. Your idea of using colored glass in your window sounds beautiful. And would be really pretty on your porch. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Metal banding around the whole window. Maybe copper banding and put your screws in the side to hang with a chain
