How can I paint over the original wall covering in a 1992 mobile home?

    If it a wall papering covering no. That will eventuly bubble and peal.

      I painted all the walls in my double wide, including the kitchen and bathrooms about seven years ago; the wall coverings were vinyl no less!!! Just be sure to wash them down with TSP (I used the liquid) and allow to dry. Then use a good quality primer and allow that to dry for 24 hours. I used a good quality paint as well. No problems with peeling or bubbling at all.

    You can paint over wall covering, but you have to be sure all seams are secure before attempting that. Then buy Kolz primer and do at least one coat( depending on the intensity of the paper pattern and having the primer tinted to match your topcoat paint).

    Wash the walls as Naomie suggests. Then prime with a good stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123. Then paint with your color.
