I once saw a cute grape arbor made of a couple of posts on each end with an old wooden ladder across the top. It looked cute, seemed simple to make, and did the job!

My Dad built an arbor for the family grape vine that's over 100 years old; he set up 4 4x4 posts set in 4x4 brackets concreted in the ground; added a bracket at the top of each post & secured a metal pipe between the posts [thus connecting them together], then laid hog wire fencing over the pipe & wired it in place to secure it. [he can easily reach up through the hog wire squares to prune or cut clusters of grapes]

Back in the 80"s mu hubby made an arbor for a huge grape vine that was growing in our back yard. He sunk and cemented 4 4x4"s, then put lattice on the top, back and both sides. I grew viney plants like gourds on the sides until the grapes took over the whole thing. Doing it this way you can make it however big you want.
