Is it hard to make a Small garden pond?

Is it hard to put build a pond..

  • First is define small... with that no as many places offer kits that include everything you need which includes pumps, liners, etc...


    With that said - how are you getting power there, do you want it above ground or below (i.e. what's digging like in your area), what rocks do you want / i.e. can you lift them or need a forklift

    I made a small pond with a rubbermaid container, pavers and a small, above -ground pump. It has survived 2 CO winters. Just Google DIY pond from plastic containers.

    It depends which method you use. I've built several and it can be incredibly easy. There are various flexible waterproof liners you can use: so you dig the hole and then literally line it, secure the edges with rocks or paving, and fill it up with water. Concrete is another option, but it's heavy work and you will need to seal the surface with something like bitumen or glass fiber. Or you can build a small pond with bricks/blocks and mortar, render the surface and seal. You can also use molded containers of various kinds.
