You need to lightly sand it and then use marble polisher. Goddard make one but there are others available in lowes, amazon, walmart etc. You'll probably need to polish twice. Be really careful after with your cleaners. I learnt the hard way....I was using my homemade vinegar, dawn and lemon zest spray, thinking that because it was natural it would do no harm. WRONG, the acidity in the vinegar damages the natural stone...hope this helps
Marble is a very soft stone and you have to be very careful what you use on it. Vinegar and citrus cleaners will etch your stone and can completely ruin it. Buy a marble polish at your home center, and use it as directed. Afterwards, use a marble-safe cleaner that will not do further damage to your table.
do not sand it just get a good polish and old use that
Polish it with Miracle Whip...honest! Works great on slate tiles, great to dust large-leafed indoor plants and shines them up, makes a (esp chocolate) cake moist.
