Can 2 different colors of hardwood floors be used in adjoining rooms?

The main level of our home is completely floored with hardwood. I want to remove the carpet in the master bedroom and replace it with hardwood. I love the wider plank in a darker stain. Can I use the different look in this bedroom ? The only place that the change can be seen is at the doorway to the bedroom where it adjoins to the hallway.

Personally, I think it looks nice. I've got a 1920 house, & it has different width & colors of wood floors thruout the entire house! Adds a lot of interest, I think!

You sure can ! Just like paint on walls or a different color decor in different rooms, different wood adds character and depth to the space .
You can, just use a nice threshold between the rooms.
