Steps to Remove the Water Marks:

    1. Remove the lamp shade from the lamp. If possible, take the shade off of the metal frame.
    2. Fill a clean bucket, sink, or bathtub with enough warm water to completely cover the lamp shade.
    3. Add a capful of laundry detergent, or just enough to form a sudsy solution when agitated.
    4. Submerge the lamp shade. If it floats, hold it down long enough to saturate the entire shade at once. Doing so will prevent new water marks from forming.
    5. Once the lamp shade is thoroughly and evenly wet, use the sponge to gently wash the fabric. Work your way around the shade to remove dust, dirt, and other spots.
    6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
    7. Pat with a thick towel to remove excess water. This will prevent marks from drips or uneven moisture as it dries.
    8. Reattach the shade if you removed it from the metal frame.

Allow to air dry, preferably in a warm or sunny location.

Thank you. I saw another hint and tried it. Used what you suggested and it said use a toothbrush /brush and gently scrub, then use white vinegar on it and let it dry in sunny location. I did all of this and the stain is lighter but still shows. I will try and do it again with your way. I use Dawn soap on everything and it is always a good stain/grease remover, but so far didn't completely remove the stains. I will try your way today and thank you for responding. Might need to do it twice to remove it all.
