PAINTING KITCHEN CABINETS WITH EGGSHELL PAINT. WHAT TO USE FOR SEALE
Used eggshell paint because cabinets were in poor condition and didn't want the shine to accent the flaws. Not sure what to use to seal them?
I want to use chalk paint on my bathroom vanity.
how do I do it or can I do it with chalk paint
It's supposed to say 'Mineral Paint'
We knew what you meant. I call it the "I think faster than I type" syndrome. That said, enamel gives you a more durable and is easier to clean. If your cabinets are close to a stove, you can protect them better by spending a bit more on the paint. They also help with fingerprints.
I would clean them good with TSP (tri sodium phosphate) to get all the grease off. Then prime and paint. Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore are my two fav's. I would stay with acrylic as it's water based and easy to clean up. Others require mineral spirits. Hope that helps!!
Here is a link that will help a lot.

I prefer satin or semi-gloss kitchen paint, less shine, easier to apply and more durable. High gloss enamel requires a lot more skills to get it right.
A friend used chalk paint and is pleased with the results.
Talk to home depot. I bought a primer from them and then used Melamine which made them scrubbable.
I love the LATEX and not the Enamel, for the LATEX has a lovely shine to it., and always looks so clean and refreshing. You may have to use 2-3 coats of paint, so you may want to take off doors of cupboards, to do this later, and then you can paint the frame to the doors, very nicely. This will look so nice and clean and refreshed. Best wishes, J.
Sand, prime(tint the prime a shade lighter than finished color) and paint whatever color you want. Make sure you pick something good for resale.
