You can throw mothballs down their holes to get rid of them.
I had that problem last year..20 mounds at one point.. I kept flooding each hole with water then pushing the mounds down, stomping on them to solidify.. haven't had one this year.. It may be the mud they don't like, don't know why it worked but it has for me..
Get rid of the grub worms in your yard .that will send them looking for food away from your yard.
