I have used "Snake Away" with some success. You have to make sure that there aren't any snakes in the yard before you put it down. You apply it around the perimeter of the yard. Depending upon the amount of rain, it will work for several weeks. Clear out underbrush as that is where they are hiding in the summer.
I got a outside cat and that seemed to solve m problem
cats can kill snakes! In fact they're known for that!
Having a terrible snake phobia, I made my yard less appealing to them. Trimmed my shrubs up off the ground, made sure there were no shelters available like upside down pots, boards, wood piles, raked up leaves and kept lawn mowed and neatly trimmed. This was a big job but worth it because I rarely saw a snake after doing these things. Also, one of the worst snake havens are ground covers, especially ivy. Hope this helps.
