Have you tried grated Irish Spring bar soap?
Does the smell keep them away? Does it work on moles and gophers? Does it bother dogs? Where do you put it?
I built PVC cages to put around my raised beds. I used deer netting to keep the critters out. So far so good. Once the plants are large enough I'll take the cages off.
I've used the grated Irish Spring soap and it worked around my flowers and hosta, but I wouldn't put it around the veggies in my garden.
TSC had these plastic owls on sale. I purchased one. You fill the base with sand. You need to place the owl in different locations. It's been an Eco-friendly way to keep them away. I still have the occasional nibbles but my garden is no longer an all you can eat buffet!
Nope, never have put it in my garden. It seems to work fine if you just sprinkle it around the outer edge of plants and flowers. The smell is so potent they won't go near it.
