In the fall or in the early spring, but if you are careful not to disturb the root growth , you can transplant them now. I would do it when the sun isn't at it's hottest, early morning or late afternoon, early evening. I've done it so I know it works. Was moving, had no choice it was mid June..

Just make sure you place all the bulbs carefully in some dirt in a box or bucket and cover them with some as well. They should be fine. Just make sure to replant them as soon as possible. Keep them in the shade until you do. Mine are fine and infact are coming up as we speak..Just be easy with the roots..Don't yank them out dig around them and pull them out as easily as you can..Good luck let me know what happens.

Please advise. I transplanted iris last year. The info on the web said to cut the roots back which I did...was amazed how long they were.
