In your spare time take photos, lots and lots of photos from every possible angle of the bad work and file a Police report on top of filing a claim on the Contractors License Board and making a claim with his insurance carriers for breech of contract among other things. Check your building codes, as obviously your contractor may have cut corners you don't even know about yet, and get help to fix this and any other work left unfinished, except this time check their license, insurance and references first.

Sorry to hear this happened to you, I know this all too well. It's been almost a year since I have been left high and dry with pits, nics and holes as well as smeared concrete on existing sidewalk on my front poured entry landing and steps. Paid my Contractor who promised to come back to finish the job (that was way back in November - it is now end of May) and can't get him to even respond to me. there are soooomany "Contractors" out there who may or may not be certified. Always check bonifieds, and a back ground check. Last roof here on house no.3...the only roofer was a newbie.
