Metal or vinyl? Have you tried soaking them in a tub in hot water, dawn & bleach, some scrubugging reequired. Dish washer detergent may also work. Not sure if you can successfully, spray paint them outside, of course.

@Gladys Rhoads I thought about that but I have never tried it - so I didn't want to suggest it - makes sence - I will remember that.

I put some rubber gloves on and a white wash cloth wet with clorox water and went to town scrubbing. Took forever! I had them in every room. Then I tried a light coat of liquid shoepolush diluted to touch up really bad spots. Then I took them down. Felt good to get that headache in the trash. I got a good 7to 8 years out of them. I just put up some sheers and new drapes. All came from Anna's and are washable. Good luck...

Do you know how old your blinds are? if these are vinyl and deteriorating they may contain lead and should be removed and replaced with blinds labeled as lead free.

Super cheap so I replace. They tend to get brittle as well as yellow from the heat.

I soak mine in the bath tub, with dawn and a little bleach. I then take my hand held shower attachment and rinse. Hang outside on a cloth line to dry.

I, too, wash mine in a bath tub as Dee does. I buy mini-slats which are inexpensive. When they get damaged or such, I just buy new ones like Jan Munroe..

Iagree with everyone else... I use to have blinds and got tired of having to change them out so I went with simi-sheer curtins - they are MUCH eaiser to tend to. But... if you want blinds (there's nothing wrong with that) just replace them... and if you like you can buy them in color now days too!

Bleaching is a double edge sword. It will cause plastic or vinyl blinds to discolor even faster if it isn't thoroughly rinsed off. Try metal $$$ blind blades or non plastic blades. Maybe coated blinds with a non yellowing coating is a cheaper alternative also.
