Want to get rid of the strips running between the wall panels- advice?

    Are you painting the walls? Just paint over them. If you are insistent upon sealing up the space when you remove the molding then you can use either a grout or silicone, then sand lightly to even up the surface. But given that mobile homes consistently lose value I would take the least expensive and labor intense method possible. It will still look great.

    Painting over them still leaves a mobile/modular home look. Some strips have channels in them the panels slip into. Others are just nailed to cover the seams. In my daughters modular home I removed the strips. Filled the seams with drywall patching compound. Let that dry overnight. Then I went over the patch with a damp sponge to smooth them out. Then primed and painted.
