Would you believe me if I told you that this cable spool table was made from scratch using scraps of wood and a PVC pipe? icon
A friend of ours has been looking for a cable spool for a long time to re-purpose for their holiday home down at the coast and had no luck what so ever. She did find one online but it was horribly expensive and needed loads of work. So we made a plan and built her one using bits of wood we had lying around and a large PVC pipe.
The PVC pipe became the middle of the spool. For the top and bottom of the spool we just cut two large circles from pallets that had been glued together.
After attaching the pipe to the large circles , we gave everything a coat of paint and screwed pieces of wood to the outside of the pipe to make it look more authentic.
No one wants to see a boring old PVC pipe, right? Just for love we used a beautiful graphic to add a touch of class to the top of the home made cable spool.
What do you think? Does it look spoolish? icon
Our friend seems really happy and she's going to try make herself another one using the full tutorial we put on the blog.
