For preserving magnolia leafs- glycerin soap or just pure glyce?

Thank you, do you still use 1 part anti-freeze to 2parts water
I gave used the 1 part glycerin to 2 parts water it takes several weeks to process they turn almost black when done or if you want the red version take them out sooner. What makes the antifreeze work?? does any one know? and I would be very careful with preserved in Antifreeze it will kill animals if eaten and even clycarin will ooze from preserved plant materials
