our house was built in 1951. We redid our floors a year ago . They were sanded and 2 coats of Varathane floor finish semi gloss and they look great,

  Reply to Patti...Did you use an accelerant in the urethane varnish? How long did you wait between coats? Did you do a light sanding between coats?

We did not . we waited a
day between coats and did not sand between coats
