What is the best way to paint a Formica top table?
The end table looks to be from the 60'-70's, and has great bones, but the top looks to be formica.. I guess for protection from water marks. Would love to paint the whole thing, but not sure how.

Try chalk paint. It is made to adhere to most anything, including varnish and high gloss finishes. So really no prep except clean the surface and optional light sanding. You need to seal it at the end like any other paint, but it gives great coverage.
