What tree stays green year round (in a furnace)?

I live in Bakersfield, CA. Key word being baker. My backyard has sun from sun up to sun down. I need a tree that can handle so much heat (can reach 110 some days.) But stays green year round. I rrrrrrrrrrreally don't want to rake leaves come fall.

That's a tough one... I couldn't find anything good other than bushes or hedges.

Cedars or cypress will probably your best option ,however they will still need heavy watering in the morning to get through the heat stress during the day.
In the high heat of the south east, evergreen Magnolias do quite well. I read several places that they can grow in California also. They're beautiful, so they may be worth looking into. Good luck!
