How do I get my swamp cooler ready for the summer?
I'm not sure exactly how to get my swamp cooler ready for use. 
Especially how the float works. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I descale everything inside and out with vinegar & rinse well. Fill base with water and turn on pump to see that the spider drips well. I use the blue plastic pads, straw makes a mess and plugs everything. If everything drips good, put up the pads and close 'er up and always let the pump run for at least 20 min before engaging the fan so the pads have time to get good and wet.
FYI dirt and bugs can travel in via the forced air so I layer the inside vent cover with 2 layers of cheese cloth to keep things cleaner.
