Anyone use copper contact paper on their kitchen counters?

I am in a copper mode and the rental I am in have awful counters. I have seen where you can take contact paper to cover counters, but I would like to use the copper. Of course, I know it could probably get cut, scratched, etc., easily. Outside of cutting boards, etc., any tricks to keep in good shape? Thank you.

There are some Hometalker's here who have used contact paper on their counters. Perhaps their posts would be helpful and they can answer specific questions you might have - http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=cooper%20contact%20paper%20counters, sounds cool!

You might consider using the copper Contact paper as a temporary backsplash, fridge covering, or on the front of a couple of cabinet doors or shelves, or on a nice large tray to hold things on the counter. The copper won't get as damaged that way, and you still have your copper accents. Then find a different Contact design that features some copper in the pattern. Put this on the counters and your kitchen will look as if a designer drew you a picture. Best wishes 😇

copper is much too soft to use as a counter top. Maybe a backsplash would be a happy alternative..but keep in mind...copper is very very soft. I am an artist..and do these relief type picture on that copper/sticky backed stuff. SO easy to "engrave"

Ask your landlord FIRST, if not, you may have to replace the countertops when you move out, and that can be very pricey!

btw, , contact paper will scratch, , not really made for usi g on counter tops.

I agree about it being nice to look at until you have to use it... the counter top being the most used surface in your kitchen. I'd rethink this one if I were you.

If you landlord agrees. I would paint the counter tops you could do a sponge effect and make it look like marble. The paint would stand up to use.
