Underground pool? Hmm, you may need the smarts of an engineer to know about volume of water and the pressure on pool walls unless it is small and not deep. That might be like constructing a pond. Above ground pool needs a wall, a liner and supports. Good luck!

WOW! Probably need permits. Excavator to dig, drain placement, special concrete mix, rebar, skimmer placement, etc. Some pool installers use a liner but they do break down, tear, and still need concrete walls for support. Not a DIY.

Underground or below ground level? Took me and my daughter one weekend to put in a 200 gallon ground level fish pond. Not including moving the large boulders and plants or the waterfall used to decorate

My Dad dug a pool that was partially above and partially below the ground. He built the walls with cement blocks. Then he had a cement truck pour concrete for the floor. He added a skimcoat of cement on the walls and painted it. He built a deck level with the top edge of the pool. At the end if the deck, he built a filter filled with gravel and sand. He installed a pump to take the water through the filter and back into the pool. He put fencing around it all so he could lock it for safety. I am sure I have left out a step or two. It took a lot of time and a lot of elbow grease. It is not impossible! It was great growing up with our own pool! 🏊🏻🏊🏻‍♀️🏊🏻 Thanks, Dad!
