I don't want to hurt them, but they ate my tulips down to the ground!

I plant Lavender and other strong smelling plants around "Deer and Rabbit Yummies", especially my Hostas. I also sprinkle Hot Chile Powder on these plants after an early morning coating of dew. For my Hostas, before they flower, and Strawberries, I use light plastic netting from Home Depot. To secure it, I cut 6+" of the ends of metal coat hangers. Rotten Eggs are supposed to work. You can also buy a repellent but, it's expensive.

I bought something called Invisible Fence from the plant stores or Home depot. Worked great but if it rains you have to spray it again. I would just do it on aa daily basis.

I grate zest soap and sprinkle it around my tulips. Add more after it rains.

Deer will eat most anything green! There are several sprays that deter them but you must be faithful about spraying. Ask at your local garden center.

Deer do NOT like Iris, daffodils or any strong smelling herb such as basil. You may try planting some in/around your tulips. Good luck!

I use hair, when I clean out my brush or get a trim I put it around the flowers the the deer and bunnies like to eat. I also use my dog's hair, that works even better than human hair.

Make a nice whimsical aluminum item and post every few feet around. The glare from the aluminum keeps them at bay.
