DIY ideas for kitchen counter tops?

I need suggestions on what I can do without taking up the counter top without using wallpaper/contact paper on it. My fiance won't let me change it out and I'm tired of looking at the laminate top. I really really need help. Thank you in advance for all assistance.

You can use the countertop restorations products by Rustoleum or Gianni

It sounds like your fiance doesn't want to do anything permanent or possibly damaging to the current counter top. I do know that contact type vinyl has come a long way from the old stuff we used years ago. There are types that are repositionable and have non-damaging adhesive. If your're looking for something else altogether, then perhaps laying a large tempered glass cutting board over a part of the counter top. I have one with a cute farm scene that sits on the counter closest to my stove. I could see where 2 or 3 (depending on the size of counter top) would break up the same old look, while remaining independent of the original counter.

Hi Taylor, You can purchase new laminate instead of replacing your entire counters. You don't even have to remove the old laminate, just sand it first! Here's a "how to" video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhK9PJ39pRQ

    Sure hope this helps!

I thank you for your time and patience in answering my question. I have looked at those as options but I don't like the look of those. They are suppose to look like granite and when the application is applied it doesn't look like granite. It actually looks like a knock off granite. Again thank you for your time.
