    Hi Lovett, Shoshana posted a good video, but I have to tell you, taking the carpet off is the easiest part. I did this in my home and it took me days to get all the staples and little nails out. However, it was all worth it in the end! I would highly recommend getting a nail puller. It works better than pliers and will save your hands! Works great on staples too. Good luck~

    I agree - it was the scraping residue from old padding and pulling a million staples that wore me out. Buy a couple of good staple pullers (I bought mine on Amazon and it was inexpensive) and keep some needle nose pliers handy and the staples will all come out. I hope you don't have to scrape them like I did, but, if you do, invest in some inexpensive scrapers.
