Without much information, I will say that first and foremost, check that all hardware is secure and doesn't need replacement. If made of wood or metal. check that the basic frame has not rotted or rusted away and may need to be rebuilt. From there, make sure the swing is clean by giving it a good wash. If you want to cover the swing in new fabric, use the old fabric, carefully removed, as a pattern for the new covers. If you mean to recover as in making it good as new, used a product to protect and preserve the wood or metal, then use a paint color and a durable paint to match your fancy. A few toss pillows and you are off and swinging! have fun!

A few years ago I had the same problem. After pricing the few cushions I could find to fit it, I lucked into a double-size quilted bedspread at a Goodwill Store and just threw it over the cushions, tucking it behind or underneath as necessary. Then I lucked into a matching shower curtain and used it to replace the canopy cover, which has since been replaced with black and white vinyl from Walmart -- just put vinyl right side down on the ground, lay canopy frame over it, fold over the sides of vinyl and glue. I used Gorilla Glue. It's still holding this third year, but will need replacing next year. I do keep an eye out at garage sales for quilts/comforters I can use for this swing and a smaller one. Some even have pillow shams for your bed-size pillows. Then all you need is a book! Some day I'll have to replace the cushions, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

My swings are sitting on concrete, but I will probably spray paint them next year because I am seeing a bit of rust.
