    Not if it is around any plants or trees you want to keep, or if you want to plant in that area. The vinegar will kill anything that the vinegar touches as it leeches into the soil and takes a while to dissipate, so nothing will grow.

    I know that vinegar is supposed to kill weeds, but have been told that epsom salts is a fertilizer for palms, so I'm not sure about it killing anything.

    No vinegar should never be put next to a plant. Not only does it kills the plant, the odor from the vinegar seeks into the leaves of the plants and kill them also.
