What is the best way to remove musty, elderly smell from old furniture
I bought an armoire on eBay and it was owned by an elderly lady before she passed away. I cannot get that old (like elderly smelling) musty smell out of the armoire.... See more
baking soda works wonders. Dampen surface and baking soda, let sit for at least 20 minutes. Then wipe and rinse. May take a second application if really hardened.
You can try Bar keepers friend or bon ami
use oven cleaner! Spray and let set, just as you would for cleaning your oven. Then wash in hot, soapy water.
Bar keepers forend and some fine steel wool.
Are they Stainless steel, , , OR aluminum?
oven cleaner works best on stainless steel ( I have taken them outside) and sprayed them, let the sun 'heat' them for an hour, then simple scrubbing and a good rinse, makes them like new.
For aluminum, , make a paste of (regular) cider vinegar, and baking Sosa, , let sit for a day, then scrub like hell.
