    baking soda works wonders. Dampen surface and baking soda, let sit for at least 20 minutes. Then wipe and rinse. May take a second application if really hardened.

    use oven cleaner! Spray and let set, just as you would for cleaning your oven. Then wash in hot, soapy water.

    Are they Stainless steel, , , OR aluminum?

    oven cleaner works best on stainless steel ( I have taken them outside) and sprayed them, let the sun 'heat' them for an hour, then simple scrubbing and a good rinse, makes them like new.

    For aluminum, , make a paste of (regular) cider vinegar, and baking Sosa, , let sit for a day, then scrub like hell.
