I'm thinking that chalk paint is trending out. What's the next wave?

    That is total preference

Milk paint seems to be a newer rave that came after chalk paint and has similar traits with not needing any prep, but gives a different finish.

I agree with Janet Pizaro - it depends on your taste and your budget. Personally, I avoid trends like the plague!!! Trends (and colors) come and go and, unfortunately, can really date a room. How many remember "sponge painting" a wall ... or remember the few years Hunter Green and Burgundy were the rage? Likewise, the color gray! Many of my friends repainted their rooms in various shades of gray and are already tiring of it. If it's a craft related subject, then that is a different kettle of fish as trying new crafts is fun, usually not too expensive and is easily changed when one tires of it.

    • I am with you! I have always loved (and used) shades of pale turqoise and aqua regardless if a trend or new next thing . . . All these trends come and go and always repeat with younger generations. Honestly I do not have the time or budget to constantly redo furniture pieces.

Yes, Naomie! I like to have an interesting decor and not be the same as everyone else. I have always loved aqua - because it reminds me of the Caribbean. I must admit I was very sad to see it become so popular a few years ago and is still a popular color! 😞. Therefore, some of my aqua pieces (bowls, vases, etc.) have been tucked away for a few years then when I see some other color become all the rage, I'll bring my aqua pieces out of hiding again! lol.
